Hi there!

I am Marco Chierici, a data scientist and musician. Welcome to my little corner on the web.

I am currently a research scientist and bioinformatician at the Bruno Kessler Foundation in Trento, Italy. I am expert on bioinformatic tools for the analysis of high-throughput biological data, as well as on scientific programming with R and Python. Among my research interests is the application of artificial intelligence methods (i.e., deep learning) to computational biology.

Music is an important part of my life: I am a classically trained pianist and composer. My piano repertoire includes classical music, ragtime, soundtrack, and pop/rock/latin music. I also play the pipe organ, an instrument that has always fascinated me due to its incredible expressive capabilities. I am available to play at weddings, parties, and receptions.
